A new, fun, and exciting way to learn about Ohio's government system!
Visit AmericanJobCreators.com and, in just a few minutes, describe how government impacts your business. Where does Washington help, and where does it hurt? Get as specific as you'd like, because we believe taxpayers deserve a government that understands its impact on job creators before it regulates. Imagine a more efficient, effective government doing that. Team Oversight is listening to the many job creators and citizens who have already spoken out. We're looking forward to hearing from you, too. Oversight Productions
It is amazing how this is being scrubbed and covered up by media. The T word, can't say the bad word or youtube will censor it, so another " M Word" A Word innocent people using the K word to Sta* people in the name of Peaceful M word to commit the T word while the Liberal Left media covers it up. Amazing.. how free speech is a constitution right unless Youtube, facebook and the media say you can't use it. The previous video I talk about about where people are so upset is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FvJamkuKxkI You can watch this video of some parent who thinks she is special: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekoDt_uxb_E
The purpose of this three-day learning opportunity is to bring the workings of the Ohio state government alive to students in grades 6-12. Students are given an opportunity to discuss current state issues with state administrators, elected officials, and students from other schools throughout the state. Each conference is led by teens elected to office by their fellow representatives. Held annually at the Statehouse in Columbus. Volunteers and the YMCA Staff, help guide the students through mock committee meetings and procedures. Students debate and vote on the bills that their fellow peers have written and presented. Bills that pass in committee are then taken to the floor of the House or Senate for full debate and vote. Youth hold offices of Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Speaker ...
An Interview with Steve Wall, the director of continuous improvement for Ohio. Steve has used continuous improvement in government and has helped 2 states save more than $400 million. Learn about Government Process Improvement, Continuous Process Improvement, & using Kaizen Events.
It sounds like a mythic tale of heroic salvation: A former Republican congressman with a fierce reputation as a cost-cutter comes out of retirement, runs for governor of one of the largest states in the country, and is swept into office by an anti-incumbent, anti-spending wave. Frustrated voters also give the new governor's party control of both houses in the state's legislature. He promises to tackle a historic deficit by slashing spending in his first budget and then...tries to jack up spending by 11 percent during his first two years in office? If the state of Ohio - "the Heart of it All" according to the state's license plates - is a political weathervane, then Gov. John Kasich's first proposed budget represents an ill wind for fiscal responsibility. Kasich won a narrow victory in N...
The Ohio Coalition for Open Government (OCOG) serves as a clearinghouse for media and citizen grievances that involve open meetings and open records. The activities of the Coalition include monitoring government officials for compliance, filing “amicus” briefs in lawsuits, litigation and public education. For more information and to support OCOG, go to http://www.ohioopengov.com. Many thanks to WSYX ABC6 for production support in creating this video.
Mr. B takes you through the exciting history of Ohio government. I'm totally being facetious. It's pretty boring. But...the state of Ohio says you must know it for this test. Pay attention to the standards addressed at the beginning. You should be able to know what those standards are about by the end of the discussion.
The ad features a working-class American with a man in a suit hanging on his back, representing "big government." The American says: "I woke up one morning and it was there: big government on my back. It's a huge problem. It's affecting everyone. They're taking over our health care, using our money to bail out big business." "Even our kids are in trouble," the ad continues, since the government is leaving trillions of dollars in debt for them to pay off. It concludes: "Congress supported big health care, big bailouts, big debt. Get Washington off our backs -- stop John Boccieri on Election Day." Family Research Council Action PAC is responsible for the ad. It was paid for by FRC Action. For more, visit http://frcactionpac.org
To what level does the populace need to rise, so that the alleged "authorities" get the message that they won't be stomped on any longer? The last time around, it took killing Redcoats... All rights of interpretation retained.
They'll lock you up if you don't play by the rules. Twist it out and beat it out of you in a padded room. So, what do you do with a council full of charlatans beating on the table with their dirty hands? This is not an excuse, it's just self defense. Spit it out. Come on, let it go. They don't want no one to drive electric cars. Spending all the money obuilding rockets that can shoot down all the stars. I'm against the government, anti-establishment and I love subversive elements. Might not ever be the president, oh no.

President Obama urged a large crowd of Ohio State University graduates to "reject" cynicism about government in an age of legislative gridlock and political divisiveness. "We have never been a people who place all our faith in government so solve our problems, nor do we want it to. But we don't think the government is to the source of all our problems, either," Obama said. "As citizens, we understand that America is not about what can be done for us." "You have been tested and tempered by events that your parents and I never imagined we'd see when we sat where you sit," Obama said. "And yet, despite all this -- or more likely because of it -- yours has become a generation possessed with that most American of ideas: that people who love their country can change it for the better."

It may not be a crime to be poor, but it can land you behind bars if you also are behind on your child-support payments. Thousands of so-called “deadbeat” parents are jailed each year in the U.S. after failing to pay court-ordered child support —some of them for withholding or hiding money out of spite or a feeling that they’ve been unfairly gouged by the courts. But in what might seem like an un-American plot twist from a Charles Dickens’ novel, advocates for the poor say, some parents are wrongly being locked away without any regard for their ability to pay — sometimes without the benefit of legal representation. ‘Debtors’ prisons’? “Languishing in jail for weeks, months, and sometimes over a year, these parents share one trait … besides their poverty: They went to jail without ever tal...

The presenter, Jon Honeck of The Center for Community Solutions (CCS), spoke about Ohio’s pending Healthy Ohio 1115 Medicaid waiver. The waiver would require nearly all non-disabled adults on Ohio Medicaid to pay premiums into a modified health savings account (HSA). If approved by the federal government, the waiver would have the effect of increasing the number of uninsured Ohioans as well as increasing Medicaid administrative costs and complexity.
